Ringgold – GA Real Estate

Just across the Tennessee line from Chattanooga, TN, Ringgold, GA, is a quaint and peaceful community steeped in Civil War history.  A thriving area along the I-75 Technology Corridor, it is largely residential with many beautiful newer communities.  Known for its native American heritage, it was the location of a stop with the Great Locomotive Chase of The General in 1862.  In more modern times, it is known for where Dolly Parton married her husband, Carl Dean and George Jones and Tammy Wynette married, becoming a “marriage center.”  Now, you can just call it home with affordable home prices and property taxes.

Memorial Day weekend for over 40 years, Ringgold – puts on a street festival that brings over 20,000 people to a town of about 3,500.  This two-day event, 1890’s Day Jamboree, takes place Friday evening 6PM to 10PM and all day Saturday 9AM to 10PM in historic downtown Ringgold, GA.  There are more than 100 food, arts, and crafts vendors, live music on multiple stages, music and dance contests, beauty pageants, a parade, classic car show, a fireworks display Saturday night and much more.  Admission is FREE and all events are family friendly.
