Before you head off down the shops or start filling your online basket. May I ask a question? Do you have a plan? No! then following my 3 tips to save you costly mistakes, wasted time and tears over spilt paint!
PPP, Plan, Paint and Purchase.
These are the first 3 questions you need to ask.
Q. Which way is the room facing?
This is an important factor as it can dictate your colour palate and lighting options.
A. South Facing
Q. What colours?
Its a good idea to stick to a 3 colour pallet rule. This does not mean you can’t add extra colours, its just a guidance to a good cohesive design. 1st colour to be the main colour such as wall, 2nd colour to be a large item’s such as a sofa and 3rd to be an accessory injection, like a splash of accent colour in a cushion
A. 1st Neutral/White 2nd Mustard 3rd Red
Q. What’s needed and budget forecast
This is probably one of the most important bit of information you need to note. Unless you have infinity pockets, then you will need to work out what you need to purchase and the trades you need to use (e.g. Decorator). This will give you a budget to work to.
