Tips to make sure your house stays insulated and warm during winter

Winter is here, and the cold months are upon us. One thing is, you need to make sure that your home is insulated and ready to keep the heat in and the cold out.

Starting on Monday the temperature is expected to drop below zero.  Of Lowe’s employees, Doug Sutich says the windows are the most important part to keep insulated.

Sutich says, “Right away, is to insulate your windows. If you haven’t bought a insulated window that has a triple Payne or has a special glazing inside of it. Argon gas helps insulate, so if you don’t have this and you want to actually upgrade your full house you can come in here and get a price for all the windows.”

Not only do want to make sure your windows are sealed, but you want to check and see that you don’t have any drafts coming in from the outside.

Sutich says, “We also have another product, it’s called great stuff, and you can use that to fill holes in exterior walls anywhere you know that you have an actual hole that goes directly to the outside.”

Sutich also says that one of the most important steps is just making sure your doors stay shut and keeping your heat at a consistent level.

    Testimonials

This is the fourth time we have worked with the Evans Group in buying or selling a home. When we first moved to Chattanooga in 2008 without any contacts in the area, we somewhat blindly selected the Evans Group. I feel very fortunate to have found them, as they have been nothing but professional, kind and pleasant to work with. We’ve always had a great experience and I would recommend them to anyone without reservation.   Barry & Diane Evans | Evans & Friends
