The love of a dog is unconditional, and ours are a huge part of our lives. With that being said, Chattanooga is a great city for dogs. It has numerous dog parks, as well as restaurants that welcome them with a smile and a treat. We have been to cities that are not always dog-friendly, and you have to plan accordingly when venturing about. But Chattanooga truly is a dog-friendly city, and that’s important to us. Below are three dog parks in Chattanooga, and why we continue to go back to them.
PLAY WASH PINT
Play Wash Pint is an awesome added bonus to the Southside community. Located right beside the Flying Squirrel, this dog park opened in 2017 and has been booming since. Also, they are Chattanooga’s only synthetic turf dog park. They also provide a good-sized dog play area with plenty of amenities to keep your dog busy for as long as you wish.
Another cool feature? They sell beer. They have a great selection of beer, as well as an outdoor patio area to unwind. You can unleash your dog, pull up a chair with a cold one, and watch your dog meet new friends. And while your pup is making friends, you will also interact with other dog owners. This is a great way to meet new people for both you and your dog. In addition, they also offer a dog-washing station, as well as daycare. Play Wash Pint really does have everything you need in a dog park, with the added bonus of a social atmosphere. What a cool way for both you and your dog to unwind and make some new friends. You can get in with a day pass for $5, or talk to an associate about a membership, which is more than reasonable.
However, make sure you have your dog’s records either on your phone or in person. So, if you are visiting the park for the first time, or visiting Chattanooga from out of town, keep this in mind or you won’t be able to enter the park. This is a good way to keep the area safe, and we appreciate the fact that we know our dogs can play with others and not be at risk. Go check them out!

RED BANK DOG PARK
Located inside White Oak Park in Red Bank, this dog park is a great size and is popular within the dog community. Every time we go, there are usually always other dogs to socialize with. There is a small dog and large dog area, and both provide a lot of open space. Also, there is a long sidewalk that leads up to a kid’s park. This is a great area to bring the family, as well as a place to treat your dog. Red Bank Dog Park is only 2.5 miles from downtown Chattanooga, and parking is a non-issue. There are not many shaded areas, so keep that in mind during the summer months. You may want to go earlier or later in the day when it’s not too hot for you or your dog. If you’re in the Red Bank area, bring your pooch here and let them wear off some steam. You’ll both have a great time!

CHATTANOOGA CHEW-CHEW CANINE PARK
This dog park is located right beside Finley Stadium in downtown Chattanooga. The location makes this a great park, and we always have a good time when we go. It can be tricky to find if you’re not familiar with the area. A helpful tip is that it is beside the Chattanooga Skate Park. Or if you’ve ever been to the Chattanooga Market at the Tennessee Pavilion, it is located right behind it.
There’s really nothing too special about this dog park other than location and size. There is water available for your dog, which is convenient and not always available in a public park. There is more grass in the springtime, but just keep in mind that your pooch may get a bit dirtier at this place than others. It really is a fun place to go, but a few updates would take it from good to great. But if you’re looking for location and just a good place for your dog to run around, go check it out!
