CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) — Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been voted NASCAR’s most popular driver a record 11 straight years and on Thursday he was easily the most popular NASCAR driver in Chattanooga.
Dale Jr. was the guest of honor at the annual Times Free Press Best of Preps Banquet.
Junior answered some questions on stage from the crowd and stayed though the awards and until the last autographed was signed, he said he was inspired by the areas best athletes after hearing a lot of their stories.
“Seeing these kids at such young ages show so much maturity and determination to achieve their goals, it’s really inspiring to anyone even a guy who’s 40-years-old like myself. I found it’s a great experience to see their stories, how hard these kids are trying. To be honored in front of their community, it’s gotta be a great feeling,” said Earnhardt Jr.
